Today I read a article on Bystanders. This article was call "The Bully and the Bystander" by Marian Wilde. The link to her article is posted above. This paper was very interesting because it directly addressed the logic of the Bystander and how they contribute to a Bullying situation. the article is
The viewpoint of this author is that she really dislikes Bullying and recognizes that its a major problem. She also feels that the bystander is the key to the weather bullying takes place or not. The main Idea is how bystanders contribute to a situation where conflict takes place, how if the bystander takes action and does something, the situation would drastically change. I don't think that it has a slant or bias because their is no conflicting evidence and she is not trying to persuade you, she is just informing us which is also the purpose. She is trying to inform us of different aspects of bullying, specifficy the bystanders role in the situation. Also Great Schools has been proven of being a reliable website, and the information is very accurate. Its accurate and quality beause they use citations and their is no slant at all.
Overall this is an incredible peice and i would recomend any one to read this, so click on the link and be ready to read a great article. The bystander is a very important role, if yout the bustander than your just as bad as bully, standing by and doing nothing is a terrible thing to do. It tells us that sometimes the bystander is too scared to get involved or do something, or they just don't know what to do. In the 21st century, now the bystander is getting more attention, victims get even more mad at the bystander than the bully for standing by and doing nothing. Once again, read the article, get informed, and keep on making the world a better place.
